If you have oily skin like me, you know it is a nightmare and worsens your skin with the onset of summers. Sweat, oily skin, and dirt are beauty disasters. Oily skin secrets more sebum than normal skin. No wonder, it needs good care; after all, your skin is the introduction of your beauty. You can apply homemade summer face pack for oily skin to address its concerns. With a plethora of skin care products available in market, we are tempted to grab one from the shelf and find our skin glowing with health in no time. But none works better than home remedies and I have experienced this. So, here are some tried and tested DIY face masks for summer season to bring oil-free shine on your face.

Cucumber and Sugar Mask

Loaded with caffeic acid and Vitamin C, cucumber offers several skin benefits. It hydrates and nourishes your skin that balances oil production and soothes skin inflammation. In short, cucumber is a great skin care item for summers.

To make this mask, grate a cucumber, squeeze out its juice, add some sugar, and refrigerate. Alternatively, you can also make a cucumber pulp in a grinder with sugar before refrigerating. Apply this cooling mask on your face and allow to dry. After 15 minutes, wash your face with plain water and notice the glowing and hydrated skin.

Lemon and Honey Mask

Packed with antioxidants, honey has antibacterial properties, which makes it a great moisturizer for dry skin and a solution to acne prone skin.

The other ingredient – lemon is a great source of Vitamin C and citric acid that fights dark spots and brightens skin.

A DIY mask that comprises of honey and lemon works wonders for oily skinned beauties. Simply mix equal parts of honey and lemon with an egg white as the best homemade face pack for oily skin. Apply on your face and wait for 15 minutes before washing. A soft and supple skin will surprise you when you look in the mirror!

Besan and Curd Face Pack

Packed with antimicrobial properties, besan (gram flour) removes toxins and dirt from deep layers of the skin. For oily skin, it is a wonderful cleanser that removes impurities pretty well. It absorbs excess oil from the skin without drying it out and regulates skin moisture.

To prepare a mark with besan, add some rosewater to it. It nourishes the skin while restoring its balance. Other way to unlock its skin nourishment is to mix 2 tablespoon besan with equal quantity of curd. Apply on your skin and rinse when it dries. This curd and besan face pack removes sun tan effectively.

Strawberry Mask

If you love strawberries, you will love this mask too. An amazing source of Vitamin C, strawberries fight oily skin the best way, and make the best homemade face packs for oily skin. These juicy fruits also fight acne and blemishes really well, being acidic in nature. Strawberries also remove excess sebum and nourishes skin.

To make its effective DIY mask; mash strawberries, add a tablespoon of yogurt, honey, and a few drops of lemon juice. Smear it generously on your face and let it rest there for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off. Ah! You have fresh, revitalized skin like never before.

Mint Mask

Rich in menthol, mint is full of anti-bacterial properties. You can count on mint when you it comes to complete skin care as it is wonderful for cleansing, toning, and hydrating.  When added to a summer face pack for oily skin, mint is known to have worked wonders! It also makes a superb homemade face pack for combination skin in summer.

To pamper your oily skin, take a few mint leaves and crush them. Mix 2 tablespoon honey to the crushed leaves for a paste-like consistency. Apply it on your face and rinse when the face pack dries.

You can also prepare a face mask of crushed mint leaves with cucumber or fuller’s earth (multani mitti) or both. You can also add rosewater and honey to mint leaves juice or pulp.

Mint combats pathogens in the pores of skin and imparts an instant glow to your skin while freshening it up.

Tomato Face Pack

Tomato is packed with nutrients such as lycopene, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, and other antioxidants. When used in a face pack, it removes tan, control oil on skin, tightens pores, lightens complexion, cures acne, and works like an astringent.  It makes amazing natural face packs for oily skin in summer.

Simply mash a tomato and add a few honey drops. Generously apply on your face and wash off in 15 minutes. Beautiful and bright skin shines underneath as you rinse your face.

You can also add rice flour to tomato pulp or juice and honey mixture. This mix can be used as a scrub that can be left to work further as a face pack. Wash when the pack dries. The result? Instantly revived skin.

Fuller’s Earth Face Pack

Fuller’s earth, better known as multani mitti is great to get rid of various skin issues and achieve glowing, blemish-free skin. It cleans, exfoliates, and nourishes your skin. Its active elements effectively clean dirt, sweat and impurities, fight acne and pimples by removing excess sebum and oil, evens out skin tone, reduces tanning and pigmentation, cures sunburn, and leaves the skin clear, soft, and supple. You can use fuller’s earth with many other ingredients as per your skin type for desirable results.

Prepare a face pack with some multani mitti and rose water till a paste-like consistency is formed. Alternatively, you can add orange peel powder, lemon juice, honey, or potato juice with fuller’s earth to achieve desired skin results.

Cinnamon and Honey Face Mask

Powered by antioxidants, cinnamon contains anti-inflammatory properties. This powerful ingredient, gifted to us by nature works beautifully on skin acne and pores when used as DIY face mask for summer.

All you have to do is to powder a cinnamon stick or use cinnamon powder for the purpose. Mix a few drops of honey and smear it all over your face. Rinse off after 15 minutes and voila! You have fresh, clear skin in an instant!
